Been wanting to give my favorite winter traverse a go in the summer switching board and skins for running shoes. While the summer version will never match the magic and solitude of the winter version, the experience was just as engaging and beautiful. Something about skiing descents vs running downhill is hard to compare. Not to discount the outing, it was amazing to see some of the hidden beauty that is covered in the winter such as secret lakes and alternating red and blue rock beds so characteristic of our home mountains!
